Tonz
Hi all I have questions about the zafira gsi. If anyone owns one, is there anything I should look out for? The reason I'm asking is that my wife has just given me my second beautiful baby girl and I need a family car!(don't worry, I'm not getting rid of the Supra!) I have been to look at a Zafira Gsi and when I lifted the dipstick the oil looked like Bailey's and smelled like petrol and the same on the oil filler cap. The sales guy said this was because the car hadn't been driven very far in the last few month's. Is he lying to me or has the head Gasket gone? Could anyone help me please? Tony. Tony. creamy oil could be a bhg but it could also be the vehicle has just done only short shop runs etc so the oil neve reaches true temp and just goes like that... Think justgav on here found a van for sale that had creamy oil so owner though BHG, he just did an oil change and ran it in and it was fine iirc and Gav got a bargain so if car has just been used for shop/school run and literally only done Got me a diesel golf tdi for my shortly to be arriving family love it. Look at the vw tdi equivalent of it a Tourane I think. Can be remapped and give you turbo fun but with 49mpg

A petrol smell in the oil isn't right though...if there is mayo on the dip then yeah, probably HG is gone (although over time condensation could cause the stick to look bad...). Mine didn't have it down the stick hence the reason I was so chuffed... Sales guy? is it a trade place? Tell them to take you out for a test drive... (15 miles or so, will soon find out )
Matt _Aero top_
i have a golf GTI for my run around car and that gets a mayo type sludge under the oil cap as it only does short trips to work and back . It gets it more so in this cold weather aswell if that helps
