Guest xxmussyxx
Hello members im new on here, i have a realy big problem. The card doesnt smoke at all, The 1st turbo will kick in and go as soon as the 2nd turbo comes it shuts off and holds back on full throtle. The car will not pick up speed unless you back off to half throtle allowing the 1st turbo to build up speed again. I have been told it could be a valve or turbo not sure, Was wondering wether anyone can sell me a turbo or valve... my car is a 1996 n reg jap spec twin turbo auto thanks
AJI
First things to check will be the hoses and intercooler for leaks. Then the control valves. Then if none of these highlight the problem it could be turbo or air flow sensors.
dude
Do you still have a cat of any sort on, if so have a look and see if your No2 turbo is in it !!! If so you need new turbos.
Ganty
i had a similar problem and when i looked it was the intercooler it was just a hose that had blown off.
a98pmalcolm
could be a dodgy actuator leaving the wastegate open! Check that the vacume pipes are on them! i had the exact problem the other week all it was. was the vacume pipe had poped off the 2nd turbo acuator! Which was leaving the wastegate open! gavin.starr
Also worth checking that your VSV's are all in working condition Or putting it TTC mode and seeing if you get large boost or not, if you dont it most likley that the turbo has died. I had the same problem not so long back, ended up needing a new turbo as it had come completley away from the turbine shaft. like above check all of your pipes to the actuators etc and check you have no loose clips on your intercooler as they can some times pop off. Gav If his IC hose was off he would not have boost in 1st turbo mode!!!!
