hang on tho if these are 3 piece rims can the wheel not just be split and replace the damaged piece ?

They dont look like split rims from the pics youve posted.

If they were and you could get the correct outer lip then yes it could be replaced

If their 1 piece then i'd personally not repair that, to do it properly youd need it crack tested to see how far the crack goes, just straightening it out and welding it up isnt good enough in my opinion.

Any rim like this should be deemed unfixable and get crushed in my opinion.

Imagine the mess it will make if it failed let alone the risk to everyone else including yourself.

Go by a nice straight set ;) they look crap anyway

They look like replicas, not the Dazz/Racing Hart Tuners the F&F car had. If so they're not really worth the cost of a repair. If they are genuine Racing Hart split rims then Racing Hart should be able to supply new outer/inner rims.

However...

I've had a split rim wheel before which was nowhere near as badly damaged as that though and everywhere I took it refused to repair it. I ended up buying a new outer Rim only from Braid in Spain for £300.

OK, it COULD probably be repaired, but it looks cast and I personally wouldn't trust it unless you got it X-Rayed before and after welding. It will also need truing up after repair. I use someone in Yorkshire for race wheel repairs, he's very good, but not cheap, and will give you a yes or know *probably* off the photos. E-mail me if you want his details. X-Raying is about £25 a wheel, that would have to be done elsewhere. I assume the pictures distort the rim, and it's not REALLY out of round as much as it appears? If it is then bin it.
