peter
no bags of cement, we found there was no room we have to shovel it in loose, nothing under the car looks amiss all bolts tight,( which is wot I will be if I cannot find wots banging) would a set of blitz springs help? Ibrar Jabbar
Are you sure it's the suspension and not the rear tailgate rubbers? Do a search on tailgate rubbers for more info.

Both the stock black ordinary Toyota shocks and springs and the factory Toyota Bilstein (yellow shocks) work fine with no thumps or bumps. Needs looking at by someone with Supra suspension experience (me...? ) Saw another post suggesting hatch rubbers, these go hard and rattle, rather than thump, but worth checking. DO NOT attempt changing them yourself until you know all the tricks, you can get in a real pickle if you knacker the screw heads, and that is really easy to do. eyefi
yep, i was just being silly, it was sorta an attempt at punctuation comedy, i knew i wasnt ready for it yet. especially in a suspension thread.

Hi again! Funny I have the same prob in my VVTi - but only if I have a passenger. I am getting the subframe bolts re-torqued when Leon does some work for me within the next few days (waiting for bits!) Doug
I had the same problem when I got my Supra. I was assured by the dealer I bought it from this was normal and that the suspension was stock. When I had had enough of the banging noise in the rear and bottoming out, I ordered a set of coilovers. When it came to taking the stock rears out the left shock was leaking and missing it's bump stop. Now that it's all changed it there are no strange noises as it should be.
