Suprab1
hi all, I went out today and the car would not start (evo 7) it has a clifford, think its 650 with remote start and turbo timer. The car was off the road for a few months needing a clutch and battery was out of the car. So, the clutch has been fitted but now when i start the car its grand but if i stop at a shop or whatever it wont start again. I have to lock it up and wait a while then try it again then it usually, but doesn't always, start. All the lights come on but when i turn the key fully they go out again and when i turn the key back to off, the alarm gives one beep. Tried putting in the code but still nothing and battery connections seem tight. Any ideas anyone?
Stevo
Might be wrong but I think they have backup batteries that they run off if the main power is lost. If your's has been running off that alone, it may be on its way out?
tomgeer
Isn't there a thread on replacing the internal battery on the alarm on here somewhere?

Suprab1
Yeah i've read all the threads but would that cause this as there is a fully charged battery in the car. Also i read that if the back up battery fails then the alarm won't beep when lockin and unlockin the car. Is there anything else that could cause this apart from the alarm? Suprab1
Ok lads was out at the car today and something told me it could be to do with remote start sensors. So was trying to start it and nothing, then put the clutch down and she started perfect. As i said before just got clutch put in on friday so is there a sensor on the gearbox or somewhere to let the alarm know when the car is out of gear? The car is manual. Suprab1
Yipee fixed it the evo comes with imob switch on clutch pedal (has to be pressed or won't start) the mechanic must have plugged it back in when fitting new clutch, just unplugged it again
