Seems like a poorly engineered head from the start, at least the company you bought it from noticed the caps in wrong possition.

 

where did you get the head from?

It was all part of my single conversion package.

Well glad it looks like you're getting it back on the road for a very reasonable price J. Nice of JP to help you out.

 

Did get hold of my friend with the 3.4L, but it's long gone... Shame as he wanted

Never mind, cheers anyway, at the mo gettig back on the road soonest is my main priority

I got the new head from Jamie this week, everything about it looks better. There are no scoring marks in any of the cam journals, there isn't a helicoil in sight :D, and I put a straigth edge across the cam journals (on both the old & new head), the old one was like a see-saw (slight exageration), but it was obvious the cam was being held in a banana type shape, the new head is perfect :D

You planning on coming down to any meets soon Jay? would like to see your car in the flesh, whens its up and running.

Bucks might be a bit far, but I'd def travel down there for the bigger meets, just gotta get some confidence back in the reliability of the car :D
