Scott
Waiting on one more person to connect to get the game going. Its not looking good so far. Every review I have read of the demo said it is absolutely crap. The game is solely based on 1 hit kills. Edit: Gave up waiting. It would say 1 player in game, need 7 more. Then it would count down as the players increased. Then it would flash back to "Searching for games" and start from the beginning. To summarise, worst demo ever! pistonbroke
ScottM, is that on the 360 or PS3?
Scott
Its the PS3 for me. Xbox and PC are going through the same issues though. Something to do with the demo not having dedicated servers, haven't found anything concrete on the full game yet. Snot looking good for the game though. pistonbroke
Anyone vouch for the 360 version?, I'm at work at the moment so can't try it out.
Scott
Apparently the only way around it is to organise games with your friends. I just tried to do a quick match thing. Not sure if I was doing something wrong as it was counting down the amount of players needed. At one point I thought it had done it but then it just jumped back up to 8 players required. Not sure if I hadn't added myself into the mix, but also wasn't sure how I would go about it. PITA of a demo.

j_jza80
has anyone actually made it into a game yet? Yep, i've just had a short go, but it took ages to get through. It's quite a hard demo, but managed to get a couple of Predator kills with my trusty pulse rifle Why don't we get a register going on here? Then we can add each other and start a game. Benyon
What do you do? I don't know if there are any jobs going atm but I'm always happy to forward your CV. It would be a very good and enjoyable job but my only Qualification is NVQ lvl2 hardware and software installation, I have been a computer engineer for 8 years with full on experiance building, testing, and software installation on Desktops/Laptops and servers. Plus I live in Manchester:innocent: So what do you think my chances would be? P.S. Im downloading the demo.

I've no idea about your chances tbh, but Rebellion also has an office in runcorn, very close to Manchester! News related to the demo: Rebellion has apologised for problems affecting matchmaking on the PC and PS3 versions of the Aliens vs. Predator demo released yesterday. While the Xbox 360 version was not affected, PC owners had issues joining games until a Steam patch was issued later in the day, and PS3 problems may be ongoing - Rebellion has said it's investigating reports. "The full game features the ability to browse for and create games but for the purposes of simplicity the demo was limited to matchmaking, alongside the ability to set up groups with friends which mitigated yesterday's issues for many. "We're really sorry that this issue tainted a day in which we saw many people get hands-on with AVP for the first time and we're hugely gratified by the positive feedback to the game." Scott
Turns out the 360 version works fine....never mind eh? Doesn't for me, or for numerous people in numerous forums. I get the exact same issues I do with the PS3. Sometimes I get on, sometimes I don't. Not tried the PC version but it is reported to be exactly the same. Guest jdwals
Sorry for digging up a kind of old thread but I got this game recently and just wondering what people have thought of it since. I have the 360 version and don't go online so single player all the way for me. I have not played as the Alien yet but I started off playing as the Marine and I got so frustrated with it. I'm finding it too bloody dark too see what is going on, you don't get enough ammo in the pulse rifle and the aliens swarm you so much and take so many hits before they go down I am just getting killed way to often and not enjoying the Marine at all. So I gave up on that and started playing as the Predator. Now this is fun! Cloak, sneak up behind a human and rip their heads off in lovely gory fashion! Or stand off and fire the disk at them and kill them from a distance. When you have finished with the humans, go toe to toe with the Aliens using your claws and tear them to bits. All with the authentic Predator sounds. Only knock on the Predator levels so far is that the laser gun is way weaker than it should be. And the Aliens always seem to know where you are which is a pain sometimes. All in all a mixed bag so far - Predator cool. Marine, not cool. Alien don't know yet. What did the rest of you make of it? ozz
I got this for the PC, played it a few times then gave up. Shame as I'm a huge AVP film fan. The game sucks and the multplayer is too buggy on PC. On a related note, I have the new C&C game and its dire. I own every C&C since conception and would happily of returned this one for a refund, awful game, destroyed the series.
