Dash Removal: Immobiliser Removal Question

Just started taking the dash apart to send off to Kev. A for a respray and it all came apart easy except that I now have an issue of the Immobiliser 'Light'. It doesn't look like it unclips from anywhere and the wire goes we way down behind other closed up cables.

 

There is enough room to 'cut' the wires then re-connect once it has come back. I don't seem to be able to just 'remove' it from the dash either as it is stick on.

 

Question is, if I 'cut' through the wires will the car alarm continuosly go off? Will the Immobiliser work? If so, having cut the wires will I be able to deactivate the immobiliser?

 

Or is there an alternative. Attached are some photos of what it's like.

Those simply look like indicator and not sensor or anything. I'd make a fairly certain guess that you could cut them and rejoin them without any issue.

Though mine had a immobilizer connector (where you could disable the immobilizer) hence my worry of cutting it. Though your one only seems to look like it is just the light so as Gav mentioned above so it should be fine cutting it? Then reconnecting it again?

 

I cut mine & tucked it away in the dash, it was not really need as the key fob disabled the alarm\immobilizer anyway so it was only really needed if you unlocked the car & didn't get into it for about 5 minutes.

Don't cut through both the wires of the cable simultaneously just incase in the unlikely event it causes a problem.
