Guest markb
I have tried to start the engine but it won’t start. There is sufficient fuel, but not enough spark from the sparkplugs. I have checked all the spark plugs and they all barely sparked or didn’t spark at all. I have swapped the battery, but this didn’t help either. Same problem still. The engine was running ok for 2 weeks ago, but all of sudden the above mentioned problem occurred. There after the Supra has been standing outside, with an occasional snow “storm” having covered the Supra in a thick layer of snow. It’s a Supra TT BPU 1993
trinitom
have a look at the ignitor pack. edit-- are your spark plugs fine?
Ian C
What voltage are you seeing at the battery? If you kept the spare out in the cold it too may be drained. Usually though a drained battery is obvious in that the engine barely turns over. Have you got any dampness in the engine bay/plug wells? Guest markb
@trinitom I did try it with a new spark plug. How can I check the igniter pack? @Ian C The battery give 12V. We also tried with a other car and starting cables. The engine turs over fine. It's with a new spark plug a very weak spark.
Ian C
Substitution with a known good igniter is the best and easiest way of testing - is your other car a Supra?
