what symptoms would you have if your crank sensor wasnt working properly??? as i have a missfire problem

Search the diagnostics pdf for "misfire" , only one "s".

 

You can use the search function to find every location in the pdf where a particular word occurs.

lazy crank sensor systems will be cranking over for longer than normal to start as the cam/crank can go out sync and back firing/popping due to mis-timed firing. you need to find out if its a mis-fire on one cylinder or random misfires on different cylinders.

if you do not have access to any diagnostic equipment then the best option is to remove plugs and inspect straight after a run when the engine is misfiring.

A failed crank sensor generally results in the car not starting, or if it's really stroppy it'll catch but run like a bag of spanners as the timing is out.

Put a `scope on the crank trigger output and see what the trace does when it's misfiring? They are usually very reliable unless damaged during a butchered cam belt change.
