Fuel pump install question

Recommended Posts

In the process of fitting my new walbro 342.

I have read all the fuel pump post that I can find. Still have a wee problem.

The (banjo/union) bolt, (not sure what it is exactly) is really tight. If I put too much force the entire centre assembly rotates. ( the plastic ring doesnt move at all.) How do I stop the damn thing rotating.

Is it necessary to remove this bolt at all?

Not to worry about the above. Got it sorted with the help of my 13 year old son. Really showing up his old man today lol.

Just one question more.

When wiring the new pump, which wires go where.

The stock pump has black/grey and blue wires. the new walbro has balck and red.

I am going to wire black to black. and red to blue.

This sound allright?

Dont know if its my imagination or not, but this evening, the car seemed to be just that little bit more responsive. Not wildly, but just more direct.

Has anybody else noticed this with a fuel pump upgrade.

Maybe I am dreaming here in limboland by myself...............:tumble:

  • 1 month later...
anyone know how to stop the whole thing rotating when removing the bolt as above?

Urgent help please!

If you put a spanner on the bolt and then give it a quick tap with something not too heavy it should loosen.

Also try wedging something in to stop it turning, also leave the large jubilee clip in place and then undo the bolt.
