jackso11
I bought some 3 tonne axel stands from halfords just before christmas and in the end I don't need them. Still in the box, taped up, never been out. Cost me £20 and I have lost the receipt so can't take them back. Anyone in the east london area want them for £20? I reckon they would prob give me a credit note but thought I would see if anyone on here wanted them first. They are the orange ones off their website. Well they are halfords own brand so I am pretty sure if there was something wrong with them they would have to sort that out. I have no worries about taking them back and getting a credit note, just thought I would ask on here first to save going there. As for the quote on the cost......I am not following you? they are new and un-used so I am looking for what I paid for them, what is there not to understand? Why would anyone buy second hand (even though you say you haven't used them), for brand new prices when they could go to halfords and buy them off the shelf for the same price + plus get a gaurantee? That's what I don't understand.
jackso11
what kind of gaurantee do you expect to get with these? If I bought them new and used them I would throw away the receipt anyway. Nobody would argue if you took a halfords brand stand into halfords and said 'this is broken, replace it'. They would just replace it. Shop worker people really don't care if you have the receipt or not if its stores own brand. I never did when I used to work in shops.

Actually Halfords (my local one in York at least) are very strict when it comes to reciepts, even on thier own branded products (I've had this before with a Halfords branded battery)

jackso11
doesn't matter as I took them back this evening and got my money back. no questions asked. As i said, they were halfords branded so they could hardly argue
