google adwords

Anybody here REALLY know their stuff on google adwords?

We have started a campaign at work around specific keywords, but it just is not showing our advert.

When searching for the keywords only 2 or 3 other ads come up, but never ours. So it hasnt dropped off the first page.

However with Bing we are always there on the results.

So, anybody got real world experience of google adwords and why it may not be showing our ads?

With my company I did some research based on this; and we are number one and two for natural listings for many of our keywords of choice.

We then started google adwords on 1 of our keywords that we wanted to get natural listings for but couldnt (high competition), and we then used another keyword that we already appear as number 1 in natural listings.

We found that although we were number one in natural listings as well as having adwords directly above it - 80% of people selected natural listings over the keywords themselves.

So for us the cost of the words (which can get astoundingly large depending who you are competing with) was not worth it compared to the revinue made on the 80% of people visiting our site.

I know its not what you asked, but i thought i would just give some input.

It's strange it isn't showing your advert, I can only think you've setup something wrong in your campaign.

First thing that springs to mind is to check the countries that you want your ad to appear in, make sure you're using that version of Google (ie, searching in Google.com will show different results to Google.co.uk)

Not sure what else to suggest off the top of my head - I've always found it rather too easy to get an advert up and spend lots of money.
