Cooler connector query

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased a PAS bottle from Mr Whiffin including some nice Goodridge hoses. I currently have an unused 13 row Mocal oil cooler with 3/8th BSP fittings.

If I wanted to connect the cooler to the PAS pipes what connector would I need. I believe the pipes to be -10 JIC?

Basically all these TLA's = BSP/JIC/UNF, mean nothing to me and when I look on the Goodridge and Thinkauto (mocal) websites I struggle to see what I actually need with so many options.

Can anyone advise me as to what I might need? Can you get a 3/8th BSP to -10 JIC connector?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are the oil cooler fittings males or females?

Have a look here:

There's sod all pressure in the PAS return line, you could use push on fittings with fancy shrouds round the Jubilee clips instead of proper barbed compression fittings.

Is the hose rubber or Teflon lined?

They'll almost certainly be black rubber lined (they aren't white inside, are they?) If they are the black "rubber" lined you can use them just fine with Jubilee clips and the finishers, but ONLY on low pressure systems!!

Ring Fay at Speedflow in my link, she'll probably have something even if it's not on the list. Mention me if you like, she's very helpful.
