Nitrous Install

Fully prepared to be shot down - as normally steer well clear of anything technical (see 'a little knowledge' stuff below etc._

However I understand that a 25 hp kit will just not make much difference to the performance of the Soop - you really need to go 75/100HP as a minimum

Also - and forgive me if very wrong - the cost looks very high for what they are providing etc

Would check out with the gurus here on the board

Cheers

Hello Try giving this number a ring 01474 853258 the guy you need to talk too is nev from Formula one Brands Hatch(think thats how you spell his name) his fitted load of kits to cars inc. sup's he quoted me about a grand for 100bhp he should be able to help you out. I agree with paul 25hp doesn't sound alot you will want more and the engine can take it.

As far as I understand it, all you do is change the nozzles to a bigger one to get the higher BHP. So you could start with the 25bhp one (actual power gains are more than this, something to do with the cooling effect nitrous has or something), and then change to a larger nozzle at a later date.

Try a company called Nitrous Solutions based in Tilbury, did some work on the nitrous kit on my TT, excellent service and know what they are doing. Sorry haven't got the tel number handy at the moment.

PS You will notice 25bhp when accelerating from stand still with the Nitrous on.

the yellow cortina at elvinton on sunday had nos,he has 2 11 pound bottles in his car and a big bottle to re fill the small bottles up in his car.it was like a small pit crew air guns and compressor ,dont he have 450 shot/bhp nos in his car.

seems like way too much for an engine to take.but what do i know. i want to stay away from nos myself dont trust it.something like 50bhp might be safe.

when i was at dragon autosports he was telling me 50bhp kit you can fine tune them to 65bhp.

£800+ seems like a lot of money for just 25bhp kit, justin sells it on his site for about £400+

does it make much difference to your 1/4 times?

From what a couple of happy Mk3 owners have said, £5-600 sounds reasonable for an install like this. You'll start off with 25bhp jets and go from there. Make sure you get a progressive controller with it, the installer will do a better job of explaining how this works than I could but highly recommended for engine safety reasons.

Thanks for the replies, Highpower want £537 for the kit and £300 for fitting it, the progressive controller is a further £300 on top but this turns the kit from a single shot kit into a fully controllable one where i could have 100-150bhp jets fitted, and use it safely, AFAIK it does this by means of you programming the control by telling it what percentage of power you want after various times into the run, MONKEYMARK how did elvington go yesterday, did the cortina get away without any problems this time, did you run, i was going to turn up again but i had a 4Oth party on saturday night didnt want to risk driving.

hi did not get my car done in time.the turnout was not as good as last time i dont think.there were a lot of scoobys there. a lad in a uk silver scooby from newcastle was there with a few other people we know.it was funny me and mate dunk both have supras and skyline lee all went in a rover 200 for a ride over.

no supras there.

the cortina was spluttering its way up the strip broke down twice.

there was this big fat guy on that 9 second bike racing and a 3 wheeler bif bike. he also let his son on his 2 stroke race on his bike too.racing dod not start till 11.20

there was a lot of honda civics there and was a red one that supposed to do a 1/4 in 13 seconds

got a few small vid clips in 320x200 nothing fancy just done on digital camera.one of them is when cortina brakes down.

there was this new shape scooby with all the scooby graphics it was crap off the line and was getting left for dead.a ok day what we seen and it was only £5 to watch and £30 to race
