hodge
I bought a pre production manifold from Paul at Whifbitz. The wastegate pipe isn't correct (hence why I got it VERY cheap) because it will be in the way of the turbo when fitted especially the size of the bloody thing I'm gona put on LOL. Instead of just moving the wastegate pipe I've decided to go all the way and adapt it to a duel wastegate. I've looked at theduel wastgate manifolds Paul is selling and others from other companies and it looks like as Long as nothing is in the way of anything it's just a case of having another wastgate pipe added to just below the turbo flange now I can measure up, design and cut everything myself and then get it welded up at work. Is there anything I may have overlooked here. Like the actual wastegate position in relation to eachother etc. Also what advantages I'd there to all this extra work apart from better boost control. Thanks John
JamieP
Is it an undivided manifold? Pauls twin gate manifolds are divided.
hodge
Yeah it's divided.
JamieP
Yeah it's divided. I did a search after i posted and if its this one then its undivided mate. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=204079 Tbh im not sure id bother on a undived manifold, if you are worried about boost control with a large turbo then might be worth upgrading the wastegate pipe to 60mm and running a HKS gt60 wastegate, also on an undivided manifold id run a undivided turbo or the center bit will get very hot and may fall to bits, seen it happen before. hodge
So what's do you mean by divided the jamie
JamieP
So what's do you mean by divided the jamie The T4 flange is divided into two on most manifolds, 3 exhaust ports to each side and on twin wastegate setups you have a wastegate on each side, as said on a undivided manifold (like yours) id not bother. JamieP
Ah got ya. Cheers for that. I'll just alter the position on the wastegate tube and then were sorted. It might be worth upgrading to 60mm mate, on the T51 they run 60mm WG and i know you are going similar size. as said make sure you get an undivided turbo, if using that manifold avoid twin scroll:)
