jevansio
I have 3 points on my licence that expired a while ago now that I've never been bothered to remove from my licence. Are there any draw backs to doing this, as I need to re-apply next year anyway as my photo card runs out? Insurance companies always ask "have you been convicted in the last 5 years" not "do you have any points on your license".
hodge
As long as they have expired jay you don't need to havecthem removed it's just a money Making scheme. Cos you have to pay to have the old points removed.

n boost
Or just send your licence to them with for a change of address(friends/family house) and u will have a new licence sent clean for free. Then a few days later send it back again and change your address back to your own.......vola!................updated clean licence all for free. Matt H
I don't know why anyone bothers getting them taken off. They only sit on your paper part and you only ever get that out if you get points!
Mike
Do they not just take the expired ones off when they give you new ones?
garethr
Given their tendency to screw up the entitlements and then refuse to correct their mistakes, I wouldn't send my licence to the DVLA unless I had to. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/watchdog/2009/04/dvla_removing_license_entitlem.html
Ark
If they are expired, they are expired. What does it gain you to have a re-printed license without them written on? Just hold fire until you have to replace it anyway.
