help with VVTI aristo anyone ?

This may also apply with VVTI supra.

 

I currently have a single turbo conversion on a MK2 ARISTO, we are running the stock injectors and ecu for the time to make sure it starts and drives normally without boost.

 

I cant seem to get the car fired up, its so different to a TT and standalone ecu . The car starts and runs if we disconnect the trac control sensor and adjust the throttle manually. If you try to adjust the throttle manually were the throttle cable is , then is just does not open the throttle flap.

 

We are not able to get an error code from the car as it does not work like a conventional TT, unless i am mistaken .

 

With the car running, I have established that the :

 

1:crank sensor works

2:cam sensor works

3:airflow meter works

 

once you let go of the throttle lever on the trac control side, it just dies. When the car is running the engine light is on.

 

Should the flybywire unit adjust the throttle flap when you turn the ignition ? can some one check on there VVTI for me ?.. i have checked to make sure all the other sensors are attached.

 

We have eliminated all VSV connectors as with the TT for the single conversion.

 

The O2 sensor on the VVTI model is different to the TT, we are currently using a TT version and rewired it for the loom. Does anyone have a ecu pinout for the VVTI ecu ?

You can do fault diagnosis on the VVTI TT Supra.

 

Bridge Tc and E1 with a piece of wire, located in diagnostic port in engine bay.

 

The standard non vvti engine uses E1 and TE1 .

 

I simulated faults by unplugging sensors a couple of years ago and it does work.

 

 

 

 

Should the flybywire unit adjust the throttle flap when you turn the ignition ? can some one check on there VVTI for me ?.. i have checked to make sure all the other sensors are attached.

I'm not familiar with the flybywire unit, could the throttle flap move without the mechanism moving on the outside of the throttle housing moving?

 

I thought I better mention that before saying when I switch the ignition on there isn't any movement on the external throttle flap mechanism.
