Ian W
How can you feel the vibration? Can you feel it? If so where from? Is it felt through the whole car or just the steering wheel? More info required I think mate
Lbm
Hi Kazama and welcome to the club. Just so you know, if you would title your threads accurately, (essential in the technical section a matter of fact) you'll probably get a few more replies - Also vaguely titled threads tend to get deleted. Anyway, I've re-titled it for you and hope you get your answer
kazama76
Cheers 4 the retitle :-) Erm through both the steering wheel and the gear stick mainly. But the whole car in general. My only other thought would be maybe a buckled alloy..
Scott
Is this on the move or while idling/revving?
Ian C
Ahem.
kazama76
only while moving the faster i go the worse it gets.
Scott
Could be a few things. First thing to check is that it isn't the gearbox/flywheel etc. This is very easy. When driving and the vibrating is bad put your foot on the clutch to disengage it. If the vibrating goes away it is something to do with that IMO. If the vibrating stays the first thing to check is that your wheelnuts are all on properly. If everything is OK there then my guess would be wheel balancing or badly warped discs. In fact, just read that. The first thing to check is that your wheel isn't going to fall off lol. Check your wheel nuts, it is very unlikely but stranger things have happened. AlexM
It could be a sticky brake caliper, I had horrible vibrations through my first Supra due to semi-working brakes!
kazama76
right just been 4 a quick spin, in fact ins NOT motion causing it. The vibration is rev related. Feeling a bit embarrased here but could this just be the rumble of the exhaust :-s
Dnk
Revving your car makes the steering vibrate ?
kazama76
Dont know, never had a supra before. i could feel similar vibration though my steering wheel in my impreza. just in this its a little more noticable
Ian W
Best bet, take it to someone who knows what they're doing mate. Will save you a lot of hassle and you'll know without the *potential* problem dragging on.
Dnk
Does your car have a manual or auto gearbox ?

Some are engine critical so I would get it to someone who knows what they are doing bud. As above though, is it an Auto? I was just assuming manual. nevins
What type of vibration is it. Is it fast or slow vibration. Fast being as if something is vibrating against something like the exhaust pushed against the rear subframe or slow as in like a slight engine miss. kazama76
It is indeed a manual. I convinced its exhaust related, the burble and vibration is almost in tune.. I will get it checked out, anyone know of a decent garage around the lincoln area?
Scott
Has it been de-catted? If not it could be the CAT heatshield. They are known for making a bit of a racket.
ellis
If you want to bring it round mate, happy to have a look and listen too. Have a few good contacts for garages in and around Lincoln if you want too.
