My TV has started to overheat and turn off sometimes when playing games so I may need a new one soon, Thing is Im moving into a new place tomorrow so im abit skint. I want to be able to read the mileage on the cars in forza 3 like some guys on here can, What will I need to be looking at? I wont ever be watching TV on it, its just for my XBOX. I also dont want anything more than 40", infact 32" would be nice for the room it will be put in. Some examples please:d

I have a Samsung 40"... it's 1080p.. lovely bit of tele..

I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to be more technical about it... talking about blacks and greys and the like :)

My sister and my parents also have '40" Samsung' teles.. all bought within 6 months of each other and all completely different... The spec of teles moves quicker than PC's these days

btw sorry for ignoring you the other night with the Forza request.. I had collapsed on the sofa post-gym for some 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (streaming off my PC) and couldn't summon the energy to text you on the keypad thingy :p

Mate, if it's ONLY for xbox then consider getting a 30" Dell monitor and a VGA cable.

Otherwise, there are some nice HD 32" TVs about.

I used to use a 24" LCD monitor (not a TV) by Dell. I sat quite close (what monitors are made for), and so it worked perfectly; ~£220. If you need it for TV though, choose something else.

40" Samsung here to, the one with the slightly red rim around the screen, very nice tele.

I've still got that 50" sony rear projection thing which you'd be welcome to come round and collect if you need something :)

Yeah I'll shove it in the back of the car lol, Might be abit to big that mate:d

@ Martin I use a 26" widescreen lcd At the mo, I deffo want bigger than that, I think 37" could be the best size for me but would still consider 32". I rarely watch TV so it would just be for my XBOX, the Main thing is I want it to show the mileage on forza type quality. My current TV just shows white marks where the speedo is:(

It's not size, it's resolution you want mate.

A 30" Dell monitor (1600p) has more pixels per inch than a 40" TV (1080p).

Therefore, my 24" Dell was higher in resolution than my 30" TV - but it depends on models etc and how close you want to sit.

I use a Sony Bravia KDL40W5500 with my 360, Assassins Creed & Army of Two 40th Day are amazing through the HDMI lead.

Be careful of the Samsung TVs, my mate uses one for his 360 and the colour difference is huge so much so that he's selling it and getting a 40" Sony W series.

Ive never noticed if i can on mine or not, but why is it important to be able to read the mileage :D or was that just an example of wanting a clear picture

Yeah thats the sort of quality I want. I suppose with it being just an XBOX TV its important, Also I have Assassins creed 2 which I bet will look amazing.

Thanks for the help guys anymore input welcome. When I have moved in I will start looking around, but to be honest my budget would have to stay around £400.

The biggest I can go is 32" I have just had a good look and my 26" just fits in so anything over 32" wont fit. Im gonna have alook at these sonys then Ive heard nothing but good things.

Would there be much difference on a 32" Samsung between 720p and 1080p? Ive also found this 1080p tv I like it plus If I paid this sorta price I would have money left over for AVP2:d
