TonyP
Been searching insurance quotes the past few days and got some pretty good quotes. Then I thought I'd add a woman driver to the insurance to see if it made a difference. (As I'm terminally single I put my mum's details in.) I was quite surprised that it brought the premium down by about 10%. Only £30 but hey that's 10 pints. My question is this. If I add her as a named driver (I have asked her by the way) and I were to have an accident, could this affect her insurance on her car in any way? Cheers Tony
stevie_b
I wouldn't think it would affect her insurance at all, unless she was driving at the time of the accident. When you take out insurance, they never ask if you were a named driver on a policy whereby the main driver has had an accident.

I doubt she'll ever drive it tbh it was just to get the quote down a bit.
tbourner
If she knows she's a named driver she'll be asking to borrow it all the time!

stevie_b
.. and if she ever tells you that she lives her life a quarter mile at a time, then remove her from the policy quickly!
