Animal
In that case, have you tried looking in ebay for the "Korean Market Stall Edition"?
Animal
For all the piss-taking, the girlfriend has a brand new, unopened copy of Windows 7 Home Premium; yours for £80 if you want it.
DamanC
Amazon have good retail deals on it. Home premium is little money and is well worth the investment. Pirate copys are alot of faffing around, lack of updates blah blah. You should look to purchase it. You will probably use it for a good 8 years. Tenner a year, its nothing. PeteA
First time I've ever paid for MS software and its only £80 for retail home premium - 32 and 64 discs in the box and not OEM so can be moved around etc. Of course if I didnt have the cash and needed something I'd probably still hit the news groups for "advice", or log in to the action pack subscription site

Totally agree with you, mine is knocked off but I do agree with the principle lol. The way the activation works means there is no faffing around and the updates etc work fine nowadays. It's been the same since vista. Not sure why it is so easy, XP is more trouble than Vista & 7. I was going to buy it when Michael pointed out premium version on offer, missed out though. Matt _Aero top_
i've been thinking of uping to 7 but is it easily done , is it just a matter of re-install over my current vista and thats it done . and does it take much memory to run 7 or is it less than vista . I have just changed from XP to 7 and if someone like me can do it then it is easy I used the Windows Easy Transfer program and that made it a very simple and painless operation. Scott
Better off not to upgrade IMO, always best to start from a fresh. That way all the tat your OS has collected since it was put on there is gone. You wouldn't believe how much your PC slows down just due to use. Windows 98 was famous for slowing down DURING use lol. I would turn on my PC and within 2 hours it had slowed down to a crawl... had to reboot to get it running right. Of course the downfall is that a full reformat is not so easy. Windows 7 makes it relatively painless due to the drivers database. It is absolutely fantastic and finds most drivers, well it has on most of the installs I have done. mplavery
I upgraded mine from vista to windows 7 . Got it from Tescos for about £60 Easy to install though i had to remove my antivirus as it would not let it install
SupraDan24
:protest:I upgraded when it first came out and its infinitely better than shitty Vista. Well worth paying for....however i'd like my money back for Vista please Mr Gates
Guest Slater
Loving Windows 7 so far, Vista is a bit of a deja vous of Windows Mellenium edition....it should have NEVER happened. I use Win 7 64bit for my home pc / work laptop and i cant really fault it on either, so anyone thinking of buying....buy it!!
Ark
For a basic web surfing and email PC (which is all most people want), I'd keep the £80 in my pocket and download Ubuntu Linux or something. Horses for courses.
