garethr
These may mean something only to those of a certain age, or of certain musical tastes, but they are all, in one way or another, part of my history at least. Bill McLaren, the rugby union equivalent of Murray Walker. Teddy Pendergrass, one of the great soul voices. Kate McGarrigle, writer and singer of wonderful and distinctive songs with her sister Anna, mother of Rufus and Martha Wainwright, and former wife of Loudon Wainwright III. Last, but by no means least, Mick Green, one of the first British guitar heroes, member of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates and, later, The Pirates, sideman to many, including Van Morrison, Paul McCartney, and Brian Ferry, and inspiration for, amongst others, Pete Townshend and Wilko Johnson.
