heckler
thanks for the link, but doesn't look to good. i may go for the blue. For some reason the red never looks good in photos, always seems be be alost orange. Also what doenst help is that the camera focuses on the bright spots which makes it look even worse!. bigbloodyturbo
I did red last year but I've just changed to blue. I really liked red as my audi was the same but it just didn't look right on the supra, plus the bulb adaptor efforts that you put in the back of the speedo only half worked, I soldered led's straight to the board this time and its much better. If you do go for blue make sure you get normal blue led's and not ultrabrights like me as I had to sit for ages trying to find resistances that would bring the led's down to acceptable levels that didn't blind you when driving. pezzler
If I wanted to do a red LED conversion, will I have to use zeners and resistors with different values to what are used with the blue conversion?
bigbloodyturbo
If I wanted to do a red LED conversion, will I have to use zeners and resistors with different values to what are used with the blue conversion? No, most led's have a forward operating current of 20mA, the only difference between blue led's and red led's is that the majority of blue one's you see on ebay etc, are ultrabright's (7-9000mcd) and at the same current they produce a hell of a lot more light and it dazzles you at night. You will only need one zener and thats only if you want to change the brightness of the led's when you switch your headlights on. I actually used a 6v8 zener (i think) which is a lot higher than you'd usually want as my blue led's where so bright that I had to run them at 2-3mA with the headlights off just so they wouldn't blind me. I used a higher value diode so that they were not to dim when the headlights where on.
Andre
Does anyone know where i can get blue led`s done for my dash, i have all my dash apart. A mate had a go but seems to have got his wires crossed as it no longer works the way it should.
