Hand over the entire V5 to the new owner as you would for a UK buyer but keep the section saying you've exported the car and send it to the DVLA.

 

If you have the original sales invoice for the car then it can be a bonus to a French buyer. The new owner will need to prove VAT has been paid somewhere in the EU before registering it.

you do not hand over the entire v5 in the uk only the little green slip:p

For France, if you are the new owner and go to register the car without the V5 you'll need a certificate of export from the DVLA.

 

It's used to give all the v5 for selling abroad dixit the DVLA ;)

 

i meant selling a uk car to a uk person in the uk:D
