Just don't understand some people :(

My car has been sitting outside my work since December 22nd as we have had really terrible snow here (Aberdeen) and - living in the city centre now (a 2 minute walk from work) - I haven't needed the car as such to warrant bothering moving it.

Tonight, I decided to get it shifted. I was hoping mainly that it would start alright as it has sat that long and also the handbrake was on for about 3 weeks (tried to take it off but doors were frozen shut and I was on my - very limited - lunchbreak each time so didn't have much time to try and ammend this. As the temperatures have been getting better of late I managed to open the car up to sort the handbrake and planned to move it soon.

This is where we come to today. There are no cars parked behind it so I'd be able to move it providing it starts fine. It started fine first time and is ticking over perfectly. No issues whatsoever on that front so I'm very happy with this. The brakes are totally spot on as well.

My issue is that - last night - some kind people have decided that they did not like my windscreen too much:

I'm really gutted as I left it ONE DAY too late to move it. Had I shifted it yesterday it'd have been fine. Guess I was getting a bit too laid back having it sitting in one place so long with nothing happening to it. But still, it sucks a bit :(

I know it is an easy fix but I'm just a bit annoyed and let down that there are folk out there that would even think of doing that sort of thing. :(

Really sorry to hear this, they are filth at the bottom of our shoes. Why would you want to do this to someone's car. Any car for that matter, regardless of how good or bad it is. As above, lucky no paint damage has been done & it can be fixed through insurance for £50 or so.

What a fucking bunch of arseholes.

So sorry to hear that mate, I hope you get it fixed, pain free, especially in terms of insurance.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. 2010 has been absolutely terrible for me so far; like someone said to me the other day - at least we haven't suffered in Haiti though.

Chin up mate :), really feel for you.

Happened to my MR2 about six months ago. Like you say it was only £50 window excess but it's the point that people would do it. Thankfully it turned out to be kids messing about hitting stones with a cricket bat (!!!) and they admitted it next time they saw me around which restored my faith slightly.

Next house i move to i want a garage !
