Pudsey
Hi ya all, Just been out and purchased a 'One for All' Amplified Indoor Aerial Digital obviously. Just wondered if anyone has one and what your experience you have had with it. Cost me £37.00 so they aren't cheap. Sorry for the dull topic too
Guest MoeBlunt
I had one and it's pretty terrible for digital TV signals mate...
jonathanc
I used to have those as well and to be honest they are not good at all mate. You have to live in a very VERY strong signal area to get anything out of them.
scotty71
I bought two for freeview for the bedroom while I was waiting for sky to be fitted as the TV aerial was naff. I paid 18 odd quid, was no good and then spent 40 quid, that was just as bad so my experiance of them is they do not do the job. It did tune certain channels but I then had to move it to get others:blink: I am in a bit of a hollow here which does not help either. Shane
Its all to do with carrier to noise ratio. but put in a very basic way, you can't amplify crap. If you have a good quality signal but its weak then an amp like this may help, but if you have a poor quality signal (low BER, bit error rate) and weak then no amplifier will help. Digiital TV transmissions are a very different animal than their analogue relatives. If you possibly can, get a good external aerial, aniference, televes maybe and get it as high as possible, get the C/N ratio good first then start looking at amps if the overal leel is still low. Even a sharp kink or squashed feeder cable can cause reflections and give you hassle with a dvb signal believe it or not.
Pudsey
This is great stuff. Sounds like I will be heading back to Comet tomorrow in my lunch hour then.
