CJ
I have a problem with Facebook. It has started to send out spurious messages to people on my friends list that have links to "bad" sites and possible viruses. I have run anti virus scans on both my home and work machines and they come up clear and have also run Malwarebyte with the same result. I have cleared all applications from my FB account ad set up a new password but it still seems to be happening. Any advice welcome - other than stop using FB. MrRalphMan
Is this from you or the Group for the Bar that you are in? Are these E-Mails from FB or just look like it.. Do you have an example of the mail.. Headers etc, don't really need the links...

I will try to get someone to send one back to me and see if I can look at the header although I think it is being generated within FB as they are going to the recipients FB account inbox. CJ
I have looked at one of the messages and it was sent via facebook mobile - so obviously not me as I dont have mobile access. I have now changed my password and I'm hoping this does the trick.

Al Massey
I get messages from my mate almost every day. Usually its the "is this really you in this vid" or "is this you in the pic" They go to everyone in his friends list. He reported it to FB and so far hasnt happend as yet. I doubt changing the password will do anything as i think its a virus that gets sent about. Best thing to do is report it aswell and see what happens from there
Class One
I got one too.unfortunately I didn't see this thread so I foolishly opened itand clicked on the link too. Chrome opened another tab into google search which autofilled the search field with alfa romeo2 and a message which state that the link appearedto be broken. None of my anti virus popped up or anything but I haven't used my desktop since and won't until I'm back home and can see the results of my autoscan. Guest johnwd
if people still get msgs from you then its , either a spam bot on ya system or the password stealer is still on there and emailing the data out to a site for them to use what anti virus are you using at the moment if you like you can download avast from me and that should solve the problem just dont spam the serial key out too much

CJ
Sorry Ed Well, so far so good. I ran my anti virus (Eset NOD32) and Malwarebyte and my PC came up clear. I also changed my password yesterday and since then there have been no spurious messages leaving my FB account. Fingers crossed.
