Scott
Anyone seen it yet? Just put it on just now and so far I am really enjoying it. I don't really remember many of the Sherlock movies so can't say what I think about the character differences but I'm really liking this version. The fact that he can fight is interesting in itself, he intellectually wins a fight before it begins which is a nice twist. Disturbed genius is the only way I could describe him and, in reality, it is exactly how I would expect someone of his intellect to be. Won't bother with a review, I'll just post back with a yay or nay opinion once it's finished.

Scott
It's a yay, thoroughly enjoyed it. Clever enough to let you wonder but open enough to let you guess enough to keep you interested.

AlexM
I found it to be a complete load of tosh, unfortunately. If you're anything of a fan of Sherlock Holmes.. don't bother. If the seats were a little less uncomfortable in the cinema I would have fallen asleep..
Guest jdwals
Gotta give this one a big thumbs up - very enjoyable movie. Thought Downey Jr. was great cast as Holmes and Jude Law didn't put in a bad performance either. Rachael McAdams is always a pleasure to watch too! It's not going to win any awards but as an entertaining way to spend an hour or two in a cold January evening - I'd recommend it.

It doesn't appear to be anything like the Sherlock Holmes that I remember. It is a bit like unmasking Iron Man and finding Poirot under there. That is basically what I thought of it. It is a good fun movie, as long as you don't go in with any expectations I think anyone would enjoy it. From what I can gather, the Richie film is truer to the books than some of its predecessors were.
Scott
From what I can gather, the Richie film is truer to the books than some of its predecessors were. Very possible. All I remember is the odd snip of a movie and Hound of the Baskervilles so I can't comment on.... well... anything to do with Sherlock Holmes. The character in the movie is fantastic for me. He perfecty represents the toils of boredom that come along with genius. I like to think that, if he could, Stephen Hawking would be a cracking cage fighter. Bobbeh
I enjoyed it, certainly a different twist on the stereotypical Sherlock image we're used to.
