P is 96 isnt it? So newer than that.
Yep, late 96 early 97.

Dude, I think it looks more like Paxco ;)

Could you not have the number plate as PAX CO?

Then you could put this up on a popular registration website like newreg (Unless it goes on here).

Im not fussed about a plate on the Range Rove so it will pob just get the S reg back it came with, I believe this will need to go on a 96 or newer, it can come off whenever someone wants it, either on retention or straight to a vehicle.

Is there a way to tell the registration mark of a car? My car is a 96 which could mean either N or P. I did phone up the DVLA a few months ago and asked the question, the guy seemed rather clueless though as he said a 96 car is an N plate regardless of month of registration.

I am pretty sure my car was registered after the N cutoff so in theory it should have a P plate, just not sure if what that guy said had any bearing or not?

As far as i know from Sept 96 it went to a P plate as mine is a 96 but its an N, but the only way i'm guessing to tell would be to maybe give your chassis number to Toyota and they could possibly be able to tell??

I would have thought its normally on the logbook but i would guess yours is a J spec which gives only the date it was registered in the country??

IIRC the chassis doesn't really determine when the car is registered, only when it is made. A few years back I saw a UK 02 Ford Escort Cosworth. Reason being it had never been registered after manufacture lol. Not sure how one goes about doing something like that though.

Anyway, I did check my V5 but as you say it only states when it was registered in the UK. In the notes it states that it was manufactured in 1996 but no month is mentioned.

Oh, perhaps if the Chassis number is post Sept that would verify it?

Does the DVLA keep a record of previous registrations? I did ask, but the guy seemed a bit clueless. My thinking is that if I can find out what the plate was when it got registered in the UK, I can just go from there?

The chassis no could be post Sept so i reckon its still worth a call to Mr T to see if he can tell even maybe Jurgen might have a record of different numbers as he imports them??? Just a thought.

Haven't got a clue if the DVLA keep a record although it could be worth ringing DVLA reg transfers and saying that you want to purchase P5XCO and put it on this car reg no XYZ then they could possibly tell you if it would be allowed as i would have thought that it would flash up on their screen that the car is too old to put it on??

Does that make sense??

Does indeed, I think I will do just that.

Thanks :)
