Guigsy
Ok. Here is the deal. I work 9 - 5:30 and my fiance stays at home. which she hates. So we go out somewhere for the day at the weekend and do something nice. Have a meal somewhere. a nice day out and it doesnt have to be much just get us out of the house. She is from the usa and is here on a marrage visa at the moment so she cant work and sitting in the house all day isnt something she is enjoying. We have done a lot of things. Museums and things, day trips to oxford, cambridge, a few old castles and stuff... that kind of thing. all good fun. But now we are out of ideas. This is where i want your sugestions. Despite being in our early 20s we are old at heart so no hang gliding or anything that will tire me out . Something interesting and fun would be good. the weather this weekend will hopefully be better with most of the snow gone. but rainy. and cold. so indoors attractions please. In the midlands or surrounding area. As there is probably still a chance of snow i dont want to get stuck in some nice scenery in wales To give you the kind of idea. We did fancy cadbury world. but its not open till next week. And we both enjoyed the black country living museum. But its outdoors. and on a hill so is probably closed anyway at this time of year. besides we have already been.

DanGX
Well, I'm always a fan of taking the boys/missus to Laserquest. It's indoors, it's affordable and it's the only time where you can legitimately take pleasure in shooting children.

hogmaw
Did you say you're a National Trust member? I can't believe you've been everywhere already, there are 1000s of places! For places further away it's a great excuse to take the Supra out on nice long journey and stopover in a hotel

ADL Mark
National Trust membership is quite affordable, about £70ish a year for a couple and as said there are thousands of properties around the country to go to. Problem is most of them don't really open until March. I got a membership for Christmas and there's only a couple of places within reasonable distance of me that open between now and March

Snooze
The exhibition of the history and design of military footwear opens at Northampton Museum this weekend - you have to ask yourself - can you afford to miss it? I remember a school trip to the Stoke Bruerne canal museum way back when (the 70s!). Is that still there? For sensible suggestions: Apparently it's the Straw Bear Festival in Whittlesea this weekend - not too far from you. Or how about a theatre trip, matinee show or something?
