mathew
Me and a group of my mates booked a week to chavalluf in july for another mates stag week. informed the guy yesterday as to the plans and he's turned around and said in no uncertain terms that he is not going! He doesnt want any sort of night out or week/end away. He very rarely comes out with us on weekends these days choosing to rather stay in playing his ps3 but we didnt think he would turn down a free week in magalluf:blink: we've spoken to his other half and she has said that she also has tried to convince him to go but he's having none of it. we've told him that we wont pull any pranks on him out there if thats what he's worried about but theres no budging, he aint going. so yeah, we are off on a stag do without the stag forgot to mention aswell that we asked his other half where are they going for their honeymoon and her reply was no where! he wont leave the town that we live in. sad on so many levels! mathew
Nowadays I only see my mates when we are going out for a pissup. When do you actually see this guy? a group of us usually go out every weekend and he'l make an appearence on the odd weekend but even then he'l stand in the corner of the club and not mingle. he's always been the shy sort but to turn down a free holiday with all of his mates just puzzles me. the good thing about it all though is that the entire group of us mates are now off on a lads holiday. if it hadnt had been for it being a stag week a few of them wouldnt have been able to make it due to having girlfriends that frowned upon it. im sure the stag not being there aint gona make much of a difference. Digsy
Did no one ask him what he wanted to do? Granted it’s a bit strange if is generally against travelling, but it's a shame that now he won't be getting a stag do at all.
Alex
I like the fact no one actually asked him for his "general" preference for a Stag do first lol
tbourner
I'm with the stag on this one, I'd flatly refuse to go if someone pulled that on me as well. For me my stag was my last night to enjoy as my own and there was no way I was going to do something I didn't enjoy - so it was karting, curry then drinks, I went home at 11 ish and let the 'clubby' types go on ahead for a pissup. No strippers or cling film or anything - it was great!!! Stag dos have become all about making a fool out of the groom, it's ridiculous, it's supposed to be a last night of freedom not an excuse for his mates to make an idiot out of him. AndrewOW
So basically you are just going for a pissup with your mates? lol. Yeah, and you lot will have a far better time than trying to drag him out of the hotel constantly. Good on you! I know a few people from my old estate, that have never been out of their own town, as 'it has everything they need', etc. Sounds like the wedding will be a bunch of toss too. mathew
Stag dos have become all about making a fool out of the groom, it's ridiculous, it's supposed to be a last night of freedom not an excuse for his mates to make an idiot out of him. we made it clear to him that we wont attempt to do anything like that to him. not only is it a shame he doesnt wanna go seeing as he's getting married but also the fact that the chances of all of us having a holiday together again is very slim. his status on facebook last night was 'youre wasting your time guys, im not going to magalluf. im staying in with my PS3 no matter what you decide to do'
AndrewOW
Maybe he needs to meet the same bloke this one did? Or just not bother to go to his wedding. He'd get the message then!
Wez
For a mate of mine we asked what he wanted, turns out Ibiza was the choice, all booked but about a week before we were due to leave he broke up with the bride to be, didnt stop us or the stag still going and having a great trip
mathew
Or just not bother to go to his wedding. He'd get the message then! one of the guys has already threatend him with this. it didnt work. from the sounds of the text messages everyone is accepting he isnt coming and theyve started referring to it as a 'lads holiday' rather than a stag do now. magalluf here we come!!!! for anyone thinking about going to magalluf, very unlikely in this place, it is possible to do a week there in mid july for £203. cheaper than butlins! Digsy
So you totally failed to clearly communicate your intentions to him, and then got funny and un-cooperative with him because he didn't want to go along with your plans at the last minute, and then gone off and done your own thing anyway? Actually, hats off to you. What better preperation for marriage could someone ask for?
Chris Wilson
He sounds pretty sensible to me, just needs to reassess the need to get married, and he'll be just fine Some friends of mine have just spent over £12K on a honeymoon and wedding and are about to be evicted `cos they can't keep up with the rent. Give him money and stay at home yourselves, that's a test of true friendship

DanGX
Has teh guy got a fear of flying or something? Some legitimate reason for not going? It surely can't be a case of cronic "bah-humbug?" I don't get it! No pranks! He's got the brides blessing (usually hard to get, in my experience) and with a large group of mates. A moment to remember for a lifetime! Must be somehting deeper. I did a week long stag do in Ibiza 10 years ago, I am still recovering You'll have fun regardless, your mate sounds like a boring coont so why have him standing around spoiling the party
