speedo

As pistonbroke said, with the addition that speed converters often cause this as well as delimiters. Checking for error codes is the first thing to do. If the ECU has logged code 42, try checking the wiring on the speed converter assuming you have one. If the wiring's OK then remove or replace it.

The Thor ones are reliable: they're widely regarded as one of the best. However, like any electronic gizmo they're not guaranteed to be 100% foolproof. I'm in a similar situation to you actually. I too fitted a Thor DSC_TSD several years ago. In the last month or two I noticed the speedo wasn't working at all and the MIL (orange engine warning symbol on the right of the dashboard) was lit. This points to a fault to do with the speed converter part of the Thor unit (or equally likely, the electronic signals to/from the unit). I haven't got round to it yet but I'll take the dashboard fascia off, check all wiring/solder joints and if that looks OK, try to run the car (temporarily as a test) without a DSC. If that proves too fiddly, I'll probably just buy another replacement unit.

Hover over the underlined "error codes" text in my post with your mouse: you'll need a paperclip and 3 mins of your time. :) Also verify that your MIL light is actually working at all by checking it gets lit when the ignition is at position 2 but the engine is off.
