Andrew
Took the Sup into Toyota today for it's "A" service, asked the bloke at the desk what was involved and he replied, "Oil change and a check over." £210 smackers for an Oil change seems a bit steep. I mean how am I going to know if they've checked it over. TBH I'm only really doing it to get the book stamped. Any ideas if they change any other fluids? adi
Thats normally it.. oil change and checkover. that little stamp in the service book has a lot to answer for.. Howver, thats VERY expensive price.. mine was under £100 when i used to get it done.
lust2luv
And don't forget the obligatory test drive!
Terminator
The A service is mainly checking and top up. The most important thing apart from the Oil and Filter is checking and tightening bolts on chassis and body. Several owners have found some of the front suspension cross member bolts to be loose. Easy to check yourself if you have a good torque wrench and the right sockets. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3769
Andrew
I thought £210 was a bit much. I might start to learn how to service the car myself. Thanks all. obligatory test drive! I clocked the mileage when I took it in, any silly miles added and I won't pay
Neil Sandham
£210 is fairly typical "A" service for a MKIV. What you have to watch for is the "add ons" that they will claim it needed and are not covered in the so called fixed price. ...but they usually give it a nice wash as well ! Cheers Neil.
