jackso11
I have always had 5 spoke wheels right back to my first ever fiesta. It is now about time I put my own wheels on my latest sup and sold on the ones it came with, but for a change I am swaying towards mesh type wheels. I was going to go with Jade-r's in black, but then started looking at mesh wheels. I have tyres so am not bothered about a package, but have found Cruize 190's which seem very cheap for a nice looking wheel. I am having trouble deciding if I want silver or black mash, with a polish lip. Black look good, but I am going for 18" and think they look quite small with a black middle in 18". 19" they look better but I had 19" on my last sup and after driving on 18" wheels I will never go back, it is so much quieter and more comfortable with 18"s! Anyones opinions and pictures to help me decide would be greatly appreciated.

JamieP
Gunmetal, if you go gloss black it makes the tyres look grey and naff.
jackso11
Budget is just average price, nothing too expensive. I guess £500-£600 should get a fairly decent set of rims.
jackso11
Gunmetal, if you go gloss black it makes the tyres look grey and naff. Gunmetal is an option. I have looked at a few 6 spokes that are quiet nice too.
tooquicktostop
Knightracer had a set of WED SA70's, not sure if they are sold, they were more than £600 though (did have new tyres) I like the black on black but I am bias as I have owned 2 cars with WED SA 70's I like the Blitz Technospeeds as well, great wheel JamieP's are a nice wheel as well. So much choice but the Wheelmania wheels do seem to have a short shelf life IMO of course
Gaz6002
I very much doubt you'll find a set of decent quality rims for that budget... I would say to go black but that's what I did so I'm biased.
supramkivcork
Gunmetal rota torques would be nice, 8.5 front 9.5 rear. May be a small bit above budget. Edited January 7, 2010 by supramkivcork (see edit history)
Stevo
I know they're not 'mesh' but I don't regret going black with polished lip. I reckon the Ultralite or Rota range of wheels are probably the 'cheapest' decent ones to go for...

jackso11
without tyres that budget should be able to get some pretty nice looking wheels. I am not bothered about them being super light drift spec amazing wheels, I just want them to look good.
jevansio
Wheel quality & style outweigh colour IMHO, a good set of wheels will look good no matter what colour

jackso11
these look quite nice, but does anyone know if that is a blue sticker that will come off the wheels? or is it glazed on? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-INOVIT-ST6-ALLOY-WHEELS-NISSAN-SKYLINE-GTS-TYRES_W0QQitemZ350295941897QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET?hash=item518f43e309
Stevo
Don't know about the sticker but they don't seem suitable for a Supra. I know the advert says they'll go, but they're only 7.5" widths and don't appear to come as a staggered set...?
jackso11
Yeah sorry, I just took one of the links on ebay, they are available in different sizes.
jackso11
8" front and 9" rear? or 8.5" and 9.5" ?

jackso11
I think they look good, but there is an MR2 that parks right near me that has the split 5 spokes like that in black with a plished lip.....I don't want the same I really like my old Fox Racing RS5's, but they don't do them wide enough for a TT in 18"
marcAB10
i agree with black centers with a polished lip, of course i'm bias too. i'm not sure what you mean by 'mesh' but i think mine are what you mean, also i'd try and get a good dish on the rear if your going with polished lip- http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=103468&d=1262882461
Stevo
8" front and 9" rear? or 8.5" and 9.5" ? Depends on their offset and what brakes you have, plus what tyres you've got to go on. All that aside, most people go for the 8.5" and 9.5" combo.

What kind are yours? they look nice but I tend to think black middles make the wheels look smaller, I guess its because you focus on the black bit which is smaller. jackso11
by the way, your handbrake is obviously better than mine. I would never be able to park on a slope like that.
