its just a question of opinion, I personally like a vs2 front and skirts with matching spats , and no spoiler. Others hate this look. some like doluk, some like stock, some have spoilers others dont.

Do to your car what you like imho you have to do really drastic silly things to make a supra look chav. not saying others havent but a bit of comon sence and you wont go far wrong on a basecar with a beutiful shape

Oh and a supra is verry much not a boy racer car.

the problem with veilside is that its just bunged on the front of a tatty car 95% of the time and it looks crap. a nice example looks great. especialy the rev 2.

personly i hate the stillen bumper is ugly. and ridox although nice reminds me a bit of david coulthard :)

my vs2 kit is original and properly fitted with no big gaps and sprayed a classy colour imho, so i think it looks lovely. I wouldn't change it.

On another note althogh i like my setup. i also think toquicks is stunning in that picas well as many others , its a classy car whatevers on ther aslong as it a good kit and a good job on a well maintained car.

I've started to go off the UK scoop :S

That car would look perfect minus the scoop

I've never liked the UK scoop, before i knew anything about supra specs etc i just thought it must have been a tacky halfords add on......... each to there own i guess.

Still, since you made that comment, and I'm about to fit a stock bumper with active spoiler after spending stupid amounts on my car since I bought it, I don't give a flying fuck what you do to yours now.

I haven't yet spent stupid amounts on my car, but I now have the stock bumper and active combo and love it.

Stock bumper with active spoiler all the way to the bank.

Thats what i'm going for

That's exactly what I've gone for :)

what you afraid of looking like boy racers in a boy racers car ?

Interesting point. Although most Supra owners are mid 20s to late 30s today and reasonably educated, the Top Gear watching public look at Supras as 'boy racer cars'.

Thats all my Supra got referred to as by people who didnt know anything about cars :)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Exactly, which is why we'll never get a consensus as to what kit looks good/bad/chavvy/boring/etc.

Agreed.

I'm firmly in the stock camp. I don't know that much about aftermarket bodykits, but 2 observations spring to mind about them (do correct me if I'm wrong):

1) As Guigsy said, often they are fitted badly onto a less-than-pristine car. This IMO is a recipe for aesthetic disaster. I notice that a lot (not all) of the images of bodykits seem to be taken of cars that are either computer-generated, or where the photo looks incredibly retouched (see examples in this thread). That's fine for a photo that you put on your computer desktop, but we don't live in CGI-land. It's like women trying to look like airbrushed photos of models you see in glossy magazines.

You can make a car look as good as those in the (possibly) airbrushed photos, but it takes a lot of time, money or both. Too many people think they can buy a piece of moulded fibreglass on ebay for £150, fit it using whatever tools they have in their home DIY toolbox and expect it to look good.

2) From what I've read on here, a lot of these kits seem to put image before function, mainly by putting the front active spoiler out of action. This is a big no-no for me. I don't know how useful the front active spoiler is, but Toyota saw fit to include it and I think it looks good (subjective, I know). For me, there'd better be a good reason for disabling it. "Making your car stand out" is not a sufficient reason. I could make my bicycle stand out by fitting octagonal wheels, but I choose not to for many reasons, one of them being because it would make the bike worse at performing its main function.
