Did anyone see the Martin Whitmarsh interview after qualifying?

He's saying that a few cars are running very low to the ground considering they have very little fuel on board meaning that they would be scraping the ground with a full fuel load so to avoid this they are speculated to be using a system to adjust their ride height which Whitmarsh thought was impermissible.

Obviously running close to the ground at all times gives the cars a significant advantage.

Interesting.

In his Friday night blog, James Allen reported that, while 'Ferrari's system is manual and very obvious', 'There have been suggestions that Red Bull has a more sophisticated system, which allows the car to run low in qualifying trim but then raises itself up when the 160 kilos of fuel are loaded in and lowers itself again as the fuel burns off. The key to that is making it legal.

'Other teams are scratching their heads about how Red Bull might have achieved that, but one suggestion is that they may be exploiting the regulation that allows teams to re-gas pressurize the dampers between qualifying and the race. If this is the case then they would get the benefit of running the car low in qualifying and then raise it up when the fuel is added. Hence their stunning qualifying form.'

It was much better but mostly due to the weather, still the issue that LH running 1-2 seconds a lap quicker couldn't get past Alonso when he caught him.

Malaysia next week so fingers crossed it rains again.

Well done to JB although you've got to feel for Vettel suffering another parts failure.

Not really, he's in a team where the designer has previous history of really pushing the performance envelope where reliability has suffered because of it - Newey did the same in McLaren and Williams.

To finish first, first you have to finish etc etc

Wow, abundant overtaking

Anyone remember Kobayashi's crash, it looked pretty bad and was just shushed aside.

Some great radio talk- Alonso's "I don't wanna know!"

It's as you say Malaysia :D

Hopefully they're starting the race an hour or two earlier than last year so the monsoon arrives in time for the end part of the race

Weather forecast for Malaysia on the weekend :

Friday : RAIN

Saturday : RAIN

Sunday : RAIN

Then again whenever I'm over there it's always forecast as rain/thunder/humid and last time I was there for 2 weeks I didn't see a drop of rain.
