tbourner
We opened some liver pate on Friday, it says to use within 2 days but I have some today on some crackers with me at work. Is it OK to eat them? What's wrong with pate that it goes off in 2 days it's only posh paste.
Ian W
You'll be fine* *This is not the opinion of a professional of any description and as such cannot be held accountable for any other possible result of eating said pate / paste

caseys
Take the pate home. Curry it and have pate curry for dinner. Mmmm curry. It kills all bacteria* *That may be wrong. Fire will.
bradleyh_15
you will be fine unless it was not refrigerated properly!

RiceRocket
I'm sure the mould/bacterial outbreak won't affect you
tbourner
I've had a couple of crackers and now have a burning in my mouth - but I think that's because of some crazy cracker selection deal where they seem to have some Bombay mix cooked into one of them! I'll go for the soft round mattress type one next.

AndrewOW
Two days is nothing. Two weeks would be a whole new kettle of fish, which is what it'll probably smell like too!

tbourner
I didn't buy it, it was the in-laws, but it's actually quite nice.
stevie_b
You will die, but probably not from the pate. I'm eating some blueberries that are well past their use-by date (just before Christmas they should have been used). Still tasty: some are much softer than normal. I'm just throwing out the furry ones as I go.
The-Plethora
Bah I used a jar of sweet and sour sauce which had a date of November 2008 a few nights back, it tasted nasty and I had to throw it away but I havent been sat on the toilet for 3 hours. Some stuff it just doesnt matter on, anything with alchohol, loads of sugar its not worth bothering with, obviously fruit is fine most of the time unti its visibly manky. I never ever take a chance on milk though, I wont touch it even on the day it goes off, that smell of potentially sour milk is just too much!
