bodilx6
My active spoiler has started reporting problems by blinking the "down" light by the button. It tends to deplay itself while the car is parked. I haven't figured if it is when the engine is running or just when the power is on. I have messed a bit about with installing HIDs recently as well as a bit of ipod install. but that is all I have touched electrically. Both is areas I have reasonable knowledge at control over, but I might unknowingly have pushed/touched something connected to the active spoiler. So, where about is the controls and relays for the spoiler? The two times it has deplyed itself I have just pushed "auto-off" and it has retracted without issues. miko_supra
Active spoiler ecu sits behind the cd player in a small silver box. A loom then runs down the right hand side of the car to the active spoiler motor which is behind the front bumper on the right. Fuse for the spoiler is in the drivers foot well. bodilx6
Thanks! That was just what I needed to know!
SteveC
I've had the same happen to mine on the odd occasion. I suspect the cause is along the lines of dirty microswitch contacts (or an associated connector plug) that detects when the spoiler is fully up or down. bodilx6
ok. Do you know where that sensor switch might be located?
SteveC
The up/down micro-switches are located in the spoiler drive motor unit. The spoiler drive motor unit is located on the drivers side, just above the spoiler itself. There's some info here that may be of some help.
