dr_jekyll
evening gentlemen. i went to book a holiday today for around june/july for myslef and a few friends. the original plan was ibiza, but then we were sidetracked by sunny beach in bulgaria, it looked really nice , clean and its less than £1 per pint has anybody been there and if so do you think it would be a good location for a small groupe of mid 20s thanks all
peter richards
check out as many reviews as you can for your hotel , we tend to go on that if theres more than say five bad reviews then chances are its going to be crap .this is just one of many . http://www.holidays-uncovered.co.uk/bulgaria/sunny-beach.html?gclid=CKCP5paAiZ8CFQdl4wodowcEJg
formatzero
My son (19) has been twice and enjoyed it and my workmate (46) has also been twice and enjoyed it,both commented it was just like Spain but a bit cheaper, though not as cheap as it was 5years ago, like everywhere else once it starts to get popular prices go up
GazzaGSi
Went in September '08 just before it closed for end of season and was excellent. If you're up for a party check out Disco Orange, have a search on google for it. The main strip along the beach is around a mile long and there is plenty of bars and restaurants to try out although we didnt rate the food much. There's something for everyone weather it be families, couples or singles. There was 4 of us on a lads break and was quality, the locals are a laugh and we'd definately go back. as said, the price has increased alot. In '08 we were paying around UK prices so assume its still pretty similar. We were getting through around £100 per day and hadn't really budgetted for that but the enjoyment of it all made it easier to live with. Any more questions fire away. (there is also Club Lazur which is the opposite end to where disco orange is. The area is supposidly mafia run so dont get out of line, dont haggle taxi's once you are in, negotiate the price before you get in)

Westcoaster
I went 3 years on the trot in the early and mid 1990's and it was a brilliant place to go! Bulgarian beer was 25p per 500ml bottle; Czech Budovar was 40p per 500ml bottle; finest Bulgarian Cabernet Sauvignon 60p per bottle and Bulgarian Champagne was 90p per bottle served in the hotel bar with an ice bucket etc! The food was interesting but edible and the weather was always good. In the early days, you would get a taxi for pennies and they were usually old Russian Volga's or Gaz's. It was a genuine 2nd world destination, soviet enough to be interesting but European enough to be familiar. The last time I was there was in '97 and the changes were becoming obvious. There was street crime and the local mafia appeared to be everywhere, on the take, so prices were rising. I have a friend who went there last summer and hated it, but I'd like to go back to see if it is still as interesting!
jon5698
I went in the summer last year, you will love it mate. Get to coyote ugly's for about 21.00 and watch the bar maids get up on the bar with hardly anything on, start spraying water all over each other and then dancing whilst setting aerosol cans alight ha ha. There are loads of good bars there all very cheap as long as you drink the local stuff. the best club in sunny beach is Lazure, we were diving in the swimming pools outside at about 05:00am lol http://www.discoclublazur.com/
j_jza80
My parents have apartments there, and i've been on a couple of lads Holidays. There's plenty do do if you're there for a couple of weeks. Lots of very attractive locals, scandanavians and Russians Clubs wise you have Lazur as in the previous post, or Club Orange. If you want any more info let me know
