mark.supra
Is it possible to disconect the alarm siren and still be able to opperate the car normally. The reason i ask is that because my Supra is often left for long periods without being started, then when i do come to start it the battery is nearly always flat and the bloody thing wont shut up even with the battery disconected, and wont stop until i pull the spade connecter out from inside the siren itself. also is it normal for the alarm to drain the car battery in a few weeks? It's a Meta m99t2: Cheers:)
SteveC
Not sure about your alarm, but I doubt any decent alarm system would carry on working normally with the sounder disconnected. Sounders aren't usually that quick and easy to disconnect! How long you can leave your car and it still start will depend on the particular alarm, the rest of the electrical system, the actual condition of your battery and the ambient temperature. It appears as though many Supra owners can find their cars reluctant to start after standing for 2 or 3 weeks due to a flat battery. Best bet is to use an Optimate trickle charger when the car's not in regular use, then you won't have any more problems.
