gordy07
I cant believe im saying this but with the all the bad weather recently and the fact the supra is my only car(We have two kids) I think i may have to make a change soon:( I love the car to bits but its just not practical. The rear seats are hopeless for family days out,the weather in scotland is pi$$ so the roof has been off only a few times this year and this snow just tops it off. If i could afford it i would keep it in a second but i think its going to have to go:( I was thinking of an impreza has anyone got any experience of owning one:hide:
scotty71
Gordy, My mate Dan has a 06 WRX. He has had it since new and he is well chuffed with it. I guess it depends on what version you are looking at, and whether your looking for a standard Impreza or an STi or WRX. Since he has owned it he has added coilovers, 18's on semi slicks, a Miltek exhaust and upgraded the Turbo to an STi and had a remap at Powerstaion. He keeps it immaculate and I have driven it a couple of times and it is quick. (n/a quick) I was 4 months ago looking at either a Supra, Skyline, Evo or an Impreza and as my kids live with my ex I didnt have the back seat issue in my critea as you do. After deciding on and buying my Supra (pick it up in 2 days) I did see the the back seats are a no go for anyone over 5 years old!!! I suppose its all down to what model you are looking for and how much budget you have got to play with. My mate has joined on here ( I think he secretly would like a Supra haha, he keeps looking at Jurgens Ad's ) so I will get him to give you a PM on anything you would like to know as I guess he is more qualified than moi. Anyway here is a couple of pics of Dan's Scooby Im sure he wont mind me showin off his pride and joy. Its currently running 329 @ the FLY after his mods. pistonbroke
I had a 52 plate WRX STI..... I owned it for less than 6 months. Boring to drive, massively expensive to tax (£455 per year) more expensive to insure, got undesirable attention from hoodies constantly. Not for me really. Geo
Dont do it bud, you'l regret selling the Supra. Just stuff the kids in the back or boot problem solved. Why dont you keep the Supra and buy a 2nd car, i did this pretty much saved shed loads on fuel when not using the Supra as a daily driver. Im looking at a BMW desiel in about 2months, and keeping the supra for wknd and sunny days.
hadyn
Cant recommend mine enough. 280bhp, 4wd and enough space to lug 5 people about and 2 dogs! http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=205551&highlight=replacement

Thats not a bad looking blob eyed STi that . . but yes as Pistonbroke states newer Subaru's do cost 400+ to tax. I laugh at my mate for that but also that would depend on whether you are going for that shape or the older "classic" shape. While Looking for a car I did contemplate a Scoob and there are many Special Editions to be found UK300 - RB5 - Colin McRae Series. I was thinking of the RB5 and there were a couple I could have viewed but I decided a Supra was for me in the end. The RB5's go for about 5kish for a decent one (If as previously mentioned there is an option to keep the Supra could you not buy a POS for your daily driver?) formatzero
After selling my sup which was a n/a i tried my mates sti and if you want a quick a-b 4 seat motor it would be hard to beat, however i just couldn't take to it,didn't feel the same quality of the supra somehow
