steve6
ive heard the walbro is direct fit into jap hanger unlike uk oem pump,,,anyone know for sure
Homer
The 342 walbro is a direct replacement in the jspec cars, the walbro 341 is a direct replacement in the Export spec cars but can be fitted to the jspec with some messing about The UK (export) spec pump cannot be retrofitted to a jspec hanger without modifcation to the hanger. johnny g
I got my Walbro from Paul @ Whifbitz. Comes with all needed bits to fit, took around 35-40 minutes.
Guest Suprafly
That's where I got mine, just give paul a ring and he'll get the right one out to you next day.
GRIM
The UK (export) spec pump cannot be retrofitted to a jspec hanger without modifcation to the hanger. but will it work with JDM pump ecu? or is there any other modification needed? Terminator
No modification at all just plug and play. Either Walbro will fit if you do away with the rubber shoe at the bottom.

That's exactly the info I was looking for I was going to change my fuel pump but I have read that JDM and USDM/UK pump ecu is different and it won't work, so I was afraid and was ready to install walbro gss342, that's nice to hear, so now i can get a usdm/uk pump
Terminator
I ran a USA Walbro in my JDM car for years. I imported one, it was cheaper than buying a JDM type Walbro from a UK seller. It was quite a few years back though.
GRIM
I'm talking about OEM USDM/UK Supra Denso Pump is it plug and play? except the hanger mod
Terminator
It has been a long time since I fitted the UK pump, I had to solder the wires on to the original plug, apart from that, it is just a matter of trimming the fuel connection hose from the pump to the outlet pipe. A couple of jubilee clips to hold the pump in place.

Kirk
technicaly isnt the denso pump better than the walbro? is the reason everyone uses the walbro because its cheaper?
Jake
Yes its better. The reasons folks use a Walbro also include the fact Walbro do a straight-swap replacement whereas fitting a UK spec Denso pump involves changing the hanger to fit a j-spec. Terminator
The UK Denso pump is much more expensive than either Walbro
Kirk
what about the bosch 044 pump? isnt that a direct fit or does that need modification to the hanger also?
GRIM
you can get an OEM Denso (UK/USDM) pump for about -170-200$ USD on eBay walbro's are about 90-100$ I don't think that 100$ difference is too much, is it? OEM is OEM anyway not so noisy and it's better quality overall IMO
