Chin up JG, Just get another shell and transfer the bits over. Most of the trauma is front end and passenger door, the rear looked mostly untouched to me. Yes it won't be quite the same but at least it will be running and you have a clean sheet on the body work.

I wouldn't hesitate at all mate. (Hans or something similar - small money really for the added safety)

Wow that is really bad, glad both of you are ok. Don't think there is a straight panel left is there?

The boot!

Glad you guys are both ok, pity about the project but I'm sure there will be others in future.

Not MR2's though - that's gone now, line drawn, etc.

Definitely, brings it home how fragile things are.

A sticking accelerator on a Toyota?

Who'd have thought such a thing was possible?

Methinks its time to call Claims Direct.

By the way, where was the brake pedal while you were saying your goodbyes to Ryan? ;)

Glad you both made it out fellas.

I would have thought the clutch pedal to be more apt ;)

The amount of times I've thought of that - I'm sure I pressed it, but I think that time we'd just gathered so much speed it was too late :(

Oh definitely mate, no doubt you will have hit it instinctively as soon as you felt things going too far. Power on to power off will have no doubt unbalanced the car, but you clearly had little option.
