Check things while under pressure such as rad and connections, expansion tank, water hoses and connections. Best thing to do is get hold of a pressure test kit that simply attaches to the expansion tank, then simply build up the pressure and watch for the pressure to drop, this should also give away where the leak is as it will force the water out.

my old rad would loose water slowly. then the car started overheating on hot days when in trafic or not moving. The top of the rad up under the top of it (aftermarket ally one) was totaly fecked when the garrage looked at it. Put a stock one back in and its be great since.
