monkey76364
What was i thinking when my alam went off this mornign !!! ... I have a great Sup thats so much fun to drive, and the other half has a car that just about gets from A - B ... so what do i pick .... yeah thats right my bike !!! Now to think that i havent used it for about 6 years , it is still all ok and working but ridding 7 1/2 miles at 7.45 in the morning down University Road, which i can normally top at about 100mph in the Sup before i reach the roundabout, and theres me peddeling like im a bout to die. So much for the getting fit part too, ended up having Mc D's for lunch it made me so hungy lol ... ...and ohhhh god i have to ride home at 5, and my arse is killing me the seat has no padding left in it lol NEVER AGAIN !!!! lol
Robert
and to answer your question......yes you are mad
Green Peace
NO You are not mad. I have known two friends who died of heartattack in their 30's...because they never did anything physical, smoked, had fried breakfasts a lot, and one of them did loads of coke. Try keep the cycling up...you will reap the benefits...and it will get easier as you know.. One of the things I do is never use lifts..even if I have to climb six or seven floors, same if I use the tube, I never use the exculators, I walk to the shop rather than drive there...(plus I go to the gym of course..he he) Sex is good cardiovascular if you can get it regularly. Class One
Keep at it. I gave up smoking April 2004 after 20 years of 40 a day!!!! Now i can do loads more physical exercise than before. I swim 1500 metres 3 times a week, and i mountain bike and take frequent trips to Wales for some proper single track stuff. Okay so i weigh more than before but i'm working on it and its the lesser of two evils anyway. (Oh and ask my wife about my improved physical fitness!!! )
how_supra
..and ohhhh god i have to ride home at 5, and my arse is killing me the seat has no padding left in it lol NEVER AGAIN !!!! lol Mad yes. But worth it as everyone else has been saying I've always gone to the gym regularly, but about 6 months ago I started jogging outside because at £6 a session at the gym I was beginning to loose motiviation. I try to do at least 5km at least once a week, and some shorter runs twice a week. When I first started jogging I couldn't run 1mile round the block without getting knackered, but the more you do the easier it gets. If I had the time and the inclination I would definately go out more.....but too busy at work, and with study etc So credit to you really. Especially when your car is so nice. eldudereno
Maybe it's your other activities that are enhancing the arse pain. No fear though, you and your arse will get used to the cycling.

Class One
Carry a spare tube a crank bros multi tool and a small pump, then next time it happens (it will) you'll be able to sort it in 2 mins! DONT buy a gel saddle, just keep with the one you've got, it gets better!
SUPRALOOPY
i used to ride to work but the pain was too much even after a good while, so i now walk takes longer but still keeeps you fit,

I was a bit unprpared today but then i was only seeing how it went, wasnt going to go and get it all before knowing i could do it all the time
RedM
Keep up with the cycling. I used to ride on the South Downs for at least 3 hours each day and I was so fit. Now I can't even get up the 50 steps at work without being out of breath. A far and shameful cry from being able to sprint up hill just for the fun of it. I've tried jogging again recently but running out in the countryside in the dark scares the willys off me LOL. Obviously I can't run in the light as its too embarrasing *cough*

Haha!! Reminds me of what happened to Keith recently, we'd gone out on our bikes and were sat down having a very healthy ice cream when suddenly Keiths tyre exploded, just made a popping sound and then lots of air came out, I nearly choked on my ice cream cos I was laughing so much . We had to be rescued by a very kind friend and their big van. Moral of the story is make sure you have a back up crew
terawua
I have known two friends who died of heartattack in their 30's...because they never did anything physical, smoked, had fried breakfasts a lot, and one of them did loads of coke. This is true.. cocaine is pretty good at causing already narrow coronary ateries to spasm - hence causing a pretty serious side effect i.e. heart attacks. I was once working when a 22 year old came in with chest pain. My colleage was shown the ECG - he was infarcting! For those who are interested cocaine is still used in nose operations (no not Daniella Westbrook's) as it stops bleeding pretty well. anwyay, doctor hat off now..... wish I had a working bike to ride, plus good on your for making the effort - an example to us all. cashpoint
Your not mad. Decided to cycle in today, hardest part was getting up 30 mins earlier. Made it in without any problem but the roads have go worse since last year (not going to cycle in Winter that is mad) drains are deeper pot holes are bigger and people still give me evil looks when i mout the pavement going through berkhamsted (it's quicker than the road though) The drive takes 10 -15 mins riding take 20-25 mins. Felt more awake when i got in and the morning has flown by
