Hi ppl on the way home tonite from work i started the car as normal and all the warning lights came on an stayed on.

So i thought this might be because of the weather recently so hoped i would make it back.

I got a few miles from home my dash lights dimmed, radio started turning itself on an off an generally going nuts next my headlights failed an then the steering started feeling heavy and on opening the bonnet got a burning smell, maybe waters got into the electrics an burnt a wire???

Any help would be great plz thanks.

Sounds like a spirit, seen exorcist? You might need a priest :D

Few question's for you.

How healthy is the battery?

Is it pretty new?

Do the warning lights still stay on when you turn the ignition still?

The burning smell could be the alternator maybe and not charging the battery?

Failing this you could reset the ECU, I believe you just need to leave your battery disconnected for around 30 minutes or so then reconnect up again. This might be worth a go.

hi mate dont know how healthy it is its been in the car since i got impoted in feb. The lights are on all the time while driving. I will give the ecu ago in the morning hopefully that will sort it.
Cool, let us know how it goes.

Some batteries need water topped up. Check you don't have what looks like small round plugs tops, with x's in them which you can open with a screwdriver. I think you normally have 6.

Mines the same going to get price on new one or get mine refurbished

Get a new altenator because it is the labour of fitting it thats costs you not actually buying the altenator

I got it refurb on my levin, still had issues after but the labour was what cost the $$, just get a new one to be safe
