jay5041
Hi ppl on the way home tonite from work i started the car as normal and all the warning lights came on an stayed on. So i thought this might be because of the weather recently so hoped i would make it back. I got a few miles from home my dash lights dimmed, radio started turning itself on an off an generally going nuts next my headlights failed an then the steering started feeling heavy and on opening the bonnet got a burning smell, maybe waters got into the electrics an burnt a wire??? Any help would be great plz thanks.

Abz
Sounds like a spirit, seen exorcist? You might need a priest Few question's for you. How healthy is the battery? Is it pretty new? Do the warning lights still stay on when you turn the ignition still? The burning smell could be the alternator maybe and not charging the battery? Failing this you could reset the ECU, I believe you just need to leave your battery disconnected for around 30 minutes or so then reconnect up again. This might be worth a go. Check you don't have what looks like small round plugs tops, with x's in them which you can open with a screwdriver. I think you normally have 6. Chris Wilson
The crank damper / pulley has probably fallen apart and the auxillary drive belt is now slipping, overheating, and not driving the alternator or PAS pump at full speed, if at all. If you still have an undertray you may find the outer ring of the pulley sat in it. Search on crank damper. I have a good used one here.
