David P
:help:Looking for a diff back plate, the type with cooling wings. Don't need the diff or casing, just the back plate. U.K. spec models, and J spec 6 speed manuals have them. One from a 'dead' diff would be ideal, but If letting me have this means your spare diff would be left open, you could have my plate to cover it up. Guest Garfy
I've killed my diff, so when I take it out I'll take a picture of it, if the back plate is the one your after then let me know I should be doing the job after christmas
David P
Just look at it. If it has a big pair of sticky out ears, then that's the one I'm after. Please let me know. Thank's in anticipation. David

David P
Thank's Stefan, that info would be useful. But even if they don't, as long as there is face contact at the gasket seal, it should be possible to re-engineer to fit.
David P
I have found one to measure, but cannot have. The bolt hole centres are in a different position, about 4mm out, and the bolts a size larger. The gasket face is a good match, so a 1-2mm repositioning of the bolt holes and position locator pins then it would go on. Just need to find a large eared dead diff.
