Dash Rendar
My boiler appears to have stopped working this afternoon. I've got gas boiler insurance through Homeserve. I called their 24hr emergency line 90 mins ago... and I'm still waiting to get through!
TopgunTT
I have used them before when my heating packed up, Can't remember how long it took to get to talk to someone but i know they were out within a couple of hours. And only today my mother in-law rang them and got an answer straight away, Engineer was at the house within the hour.
Dash Rendar
Oh well. Maybe I was just unlucky. A few minutes after I posted, my boiler bizarrely came back to life, so I hung up and I'll try again if/when it packs in again.

Aero-M
We have had homeserve when our kitchen flooded. I was impressed with their service from start to finish.
Meko
My boiler appears to have stopped working this afternoon. I've got gas boiler insurance through Homeserve. I called their 24hr emergency line 90 mins ago... and I'm still waiting to get through! i set up all their phone lines, if you have any problems getting through drop me a PM and i'll see if i've got any direct numbers that bypass the IVR system.. Or try 01772 758 and then any 3 digits after that as have 2000 numbers from 01772 75 but 758 is the main range

AndyT
I'm guessing you've recently started putting the central heating on a lot more?? That tends to send a lot of cack through the system from the rads and blocks the secondary heat exchanger. It's a quick fix, couple of hours soaking in cleaner / acid wash. The boiler stops working because you have either a large pressure drop across the heat exchanger or it may be because the boiler is protected by a temp stat. If the stat sees something like a 35 degree difference it'll shut down. Guess who's had to fix their boiler recently.
