End of Saab?

They've seen so many ups and downs over the last 6 months, I bet all involved want to be rid of the speculation.

I agree though, it's a shame. They were a little bit madcap, but always produced something 'interesting'.

IMHO, their recent line in family middle-of-the-road saloon cars killed them. No point trying to compete in that market with the likes of the VAG group, BMW, Mercedes and the far east offerings.

Indeed, a sad state of affairs, the GM debace was always going to bring the end of at least 1 brand...more may follow... :(

But once broken up the name can be bought and the company can resurface, even if it's in name only.

Haven't they already dropped Pontiac & Saturn?

(I can understand them getting rid of Saturn, but you'd have thought they'd try a little harder to save the Pontiac name)

Saab do some pretty good cars, last night was driving my friend's 93 Convertiable. He has the 1.9TiD, though has been tuned slightly by Hirsch (Saab's performance tuning arm) it has a very smooth and fairly quick for a diesel! Handling is brilliant as well! His one is now 3 years old and I was telling him few weeks about this, pretty gutted though not in a hurry to sell his Saab.
